Connected Communities
I went to a Connected Communities meeting to look at how I can help support this and be part of it. I have shared it with lots of people that I think might value from this support in the community and look forward to helping this project going forward.
Totally Locally Meeting
I have been part of the totally locally meeting and have really enjoyed meeting different businesses and looking at how I can help the town to promote the new Market Quarter and our town. I have joined the Town Champions and said I will help with the admin part of the the Totally Locally page.

In Bloom
I was proud to represent Congleton In Bloom group, The Bromley Bloomers and Friendly Faces Nursery Group. I am super proud of the Bloomers and Nursery who won many awards and it was nice to see the groups being recognised and the hard work appreciated. It was lovely to see the judges again and I am very proud of our town and its achievements.
At the Hub Christmas Party I gave some of the Bloomers a special certificate thanking them for all their work.

The open day at the children’s centre community Hub.
It was a pleasure to be part of the launch day at the children’s centre for the community Hub.

It was a pleasure to listen to the children singing and talking with professionals about the local services available to local families. It’s a valuable resource and it was pleasure to be part of the opening ceremony.
Brilliant news for all parents in Congleton with the opening of a brand new Family Hub in Congleton – next to Daven Primary School.
Core services at family hubs include:
- Midwifery appointments, health checks, breastfeeding, weaning and nutrition advice,
- Start for life activities including early years play education and sensory development;
- Support from health visiting and school nurse teams;
- Tailored and intensive support for families who may need a little extra help;
- Family help and support for children with disabilities or additional needs;
- Practical support around finance, housing and supported learning;
- Youth support services; and Mental health support for children, young people, families and new parents
Family hubs aren’t just about physical buildings – their services will be available in a variety of ways including using community spaces and online, so services can be accessed in the best way to suit families.
Congleton Christmas light switch on
I was working hard as a volunteer in the green room next to the stage, making sure the acts were running on time, that they had everything they needed and that things were running smoothly on stage.

I also worked after at Market Quarter helping the Congleton Bears to promote the new quarter.
It was lovely to see the area busy and open.

It was great to see so many residents coming together at the hub Christmas party. We had the Congleton Bear and Congleton radio who attended they brought some lovely balloons which were handed out to the children. Its was a very successful protest and it was nice to chat to local residents about our concerns.
