Gully maintenance
I have been spending lots of time helping residents on Bromley farm to maintain the gullies behind their homes. I have been working hard and had meetings with Plus Dane Housing looking at how we can improve the area and developing strategies to prevent fly tipping.
Also, I have been making sure that fly tipping is getting collected in some of the problematic areas. I have also been helping residents to reduce antisocial behaviour in the Gully on Dale Crescent and prevent trouble causers from accessing the gully. I have been doing this by making sure the padlocks are secured and replaced when necessary and replacing the cut padlocks with more secure ones.
The Friendship Garden
It has been great to work with the many volunteers that have attended the Friendship Garden. The garden is looking absolutely wonderful. I have been working hard to make sure during the summer weather it’s being watered and maintained.

I have worked with many community groups and The Bromley Bloomers to set the garden up for Congleton in Bloom by weeding, building new boarders and filling them with soil donated by Cheshire Police, building a new shed for The Bloomers to store their tools and getting the plants to add to out garden. The Bloomers have worked hard to plant the garden up and its thriving.
Mayor Making
I have been proud of Cllr Kay Wesley becoming mayor and it has been a fantastic experience to see her on her mayoral journey and be part of the experience.
I enjoyed the mayor making meeting and I am pleased to celebrate with the other councillors and look forward to working together in our various groups.
Council AGM
it was a good turnout for the council’s AGM and it was great to listen to residents’ views and hear what they would like us to be doing as Councillor. It was great to hear and vote on what the town’s priorities should be. I think this was a massively important meeting because it is where the public were able to voice their opinions clearly and it was nice to listen to the chair of the various committees progress and work goals.
Community Safety
The community safety group is a massively important group which improves the lives of local residents. I have been increasingly concerned about the rate of crime that is happening on Dale Crescent and it’s been a great place to air my concerns and try and come up with strategies to improve the area.
Also the work that I have been doing with local shops to combat antisocial behaviour in the shops and around the shops is being looked at and we have come up with proactive strategies to help the stores. The stores have also been suffering with shoplifting issues and I was able to link the stores with some of the councils new strategies which I am hoping will improve security issues.
Mayor’s Civic Awards
What a privilege It was to be part of the Civic awards ceremony. We are very lucky to have such amazing volunteers in our town and it was nice to be part of the awards evening to celebrate the volunteers achievements.

Congleton Food Festival
I had a wonderful day at congleton Food Festival working on the gates at Mill St making sure the road closures we safe and disabled access was available and accessible.
I helped disabled people access the event safely and have suitable parking.

There were lots of fabulous local vendors coming together to work with volunteers to put on a delightful event for our town. It was an honour to be a volunteer there and help make the day the success that it was. Despite the showers it was well attended and a really good community event.
Hillary Ave Allotments
In my role as councillor I have been nominated to represent the Town Council for the Hillary Avenue allotments. I have been attending meetings and helping them where I can with the running of their allotments and fay to day tasks. as I volunteer with Congleton in Bloom, it’s nice to see a different group perspective on Congleton in Bloom and share ideas.
I have helped them to get the trees in the allotment maintained.
I have also established relationships with the community Hub and Bloomers. This has been great because some of their team have come to the Friendship Garden and run activities for various groups.
Congleton In Bloom
I have been planning with the In Bloom team each detail of the days the judges come to the run up. Making sure that every aspect of him Bloom has been planned for and runs smoothly on the day.
We looked at the different gardens and worked out dates for the team to meet to do community days and planting around the town. We made timetable of events and have looked at areas that need TLC and planned how to make them happen he best they can be for the judges visit.
We looked at venues for if it was raining and made planned for the community celebration at the Town Hall.
Meeting Attendance
For May and June I attended 100% of my Council Committee and Working Group Meetings.
