Why join? Campaigning to win elections and highlight important issues is expensive. The Equality Party does not have big corporate or union donors like some of the traditional political parties. All our work is funded by our Members.
Being a party Member is the single most important way you can help drive equality and take on those who seek to create division in our country. You don’t need to attend meetings or volunteer for anything, just join as a paid-up member and this will help us get more councillors elected around the country who will work on your behalf!
Your £5 a month (or £20 a year concession) will ensure we can get more people elected and our existing councillors can continue to improve their local communities by:
- Providing activities, support and services for vulnerable people including those on low incomes and the elderly.
- Working to make our towns and cities more accessible for disabled people
- Setting up and driving domestic abuse and mental health services
- Challenging violence against women and girls and all violent and hate crime
- Improving sustainability and biodiversity, and working to combat climate change
- Supporting local LTBTQIA+ residents, including helping Pride events and organisations
- Focusing on young people, ensuring they are heard in our democracy and have opportunities to contribute and thrive
- Ensuring families can prosper, especially by lobbying for improvements to childcare, education and parental leave
- Combatting the ongoing scourge of racism and supporting people of colour and ethnic minority groups, including welcoming refugees
- Driving local culture, art, history and heritage programs that represent and celebrate all parts of our community
- Ensuring our councils consider equality and environmental impact for all their decisions

Support our work as a Member for £5 a month or £60 a year, or to make an additional donation to the party above basic Membership, please choose one of those options. Concessionary membership is also available.
Low Income in this context is less than £22,000 personal earnings per year. The Equality Party may ask you to provide documentary evidence of your student/low income status.
Note: on your bank statement the payment will show as GoCardless. Check the payment reference for the indication that it is for the Equality Party.
The Leadership reserves the right to terminate the membership of anyone who behaves or makes statements in contravention of the Equality Party’s Vision and Objectives.

What will you get?
Our Members receive regular email updates about our campaigns and elections, and are invited to take part in events or campaigns. You will be invited to our regular Equality Hour events (usually by Zoom on a Monday evening) at which we have prominent local and national speakers on various equality topics. (You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time, and remain a Member if you wish).
We partner with other organisations who provide training, and provide peer-to-peer mentoring for anyone who wants to get into government for the first time.
Would you like to Volunteer?
If you like you can volunteer for the party, join our campaigns and protests, help with our social media, maybe be on a street stall or go canvassing to help get more Equality Party councillors elected. Perhaps you would like to stand for your local council? We have a Councillors’ Toolkit to help you get elected and bring important proposals to your council for consideration, if you want to get involved.
