Standing for Crewe Central Ward
I am pleased to introduce myself, Vicky Pulman, as your Women’s Equality Party candidate for the upcoming Crewe Central by-election.
Grounded in principles of transparency, accountability, and community pride, I’m excited to team up with you to guide Crewe Central towards a future of growth and success.
I am representing The Women’s Equality Party, which is dedicated to creating a society where women can live free from violence, have equal access to healthcare, and enjoy the support needed to balance career and family responsibilities. Through these priorities, WEP strives to build a world where women can realise their full potential without systemic barriers.
In my professional life I am marketing lead for a regional housing association subsidiary, in my spare time an artist with work in several local venues and a mother to one, unstoppable, 8 year old. I’m immersed in the ups and downs of family life amidst today’s economic challenges, and I totally get the balancing act between work and family.
Creative and deeply empathetic, I want to make a difference – not just pose next to a pothole!
My priorities for Crewe Central Include:
Anti-Social Behaviour and Community Safety
Building safer neighbourhoods is a shared responsibility. I will collaborate with the police, housing agencies, and other key stakeholders to ensure your homes and communities are secure.
Let’s work together for a safer and happier environment.
Public Transport
A lifeline for so many – its vital that reliable public transport reaches those who use it for daily life. Comprehensive timetables with clear updates will help keep you on the go!
Supporting Local Businesses and Improving the High Street

I will actively support local businesses to apply for grants of up to £30,000 to breathe new life into vacant units, supporting local businesses and fostering a thriving high street.
Safer Streets
I will be advocating for measures that address street harassment, improve street lighting, and
promote a safer environment for women (and everyone) to navigate without fear.
Childcare
Recognising the impact of childcare responsibilities on women’s careers and overall well-be
ing, I will prioritise affordable and accessible childcare options. By championing policies that support work-life balance and shared caregiving responsibilities, WEP aims to empower women in both their professional and personal lives.
Potholes and Road Improvements
A story repeated across the country! I will work to prioritise road improvements and tackle those pesky potholes head-on.
Environmental Harmony – Litter and Fly Tipping
It’s time to clean up our act!

I find fly tipping entirely unacceptable and am committed to tackling litter and fly-tipping issues, advocating for increased CCTV in key
hotspots and working towards a cleaner, greener Crewe Central.
Domestic Abuse
Committed to combating domestic abuse and violence against women. This includes advocating for stronger legal frameworks, increased support ser
vices for survivors, and challenging societal norms that perpetuate domestic violence.
Healthcare
Equal access to healthcare is a fundamental right. Addressing this involves removing gender bias
in medical research, ensuring reproductive health rights are met, and advocating for comprehensive healthcare services that consider the unique needs of women.
Parks, Playgrounds, and Sports Facilities
Our parks and sports facilities are vital for a healthy community. I promise to enhance these spaces, creating a vibrant environment f
or families and individuals to enjoy.
Mental Health and Well-being

Your mental health matters.
I will champion initiatives that support mental well-being, ensuring our community has
access to the resources and services needed for a healthier, happier life.
Asylum Seekers – Compassion and Understanding
We are a welcoming community. I will advocate for fair treatment of asylum seekers, foster a compassionate and understanding
approach to their situation in harmony with residents and work to resolve division and unease.
Community Spirit, Pride, and Transparency
Together, let’s build a community we can all be proud of. I am committed to transparency, accountability, and fostering a sense of co
mmunity spirit that unites us all.
Your vote for Vicky Pulman is a vote for positive change. No spin, misleading information, or whitewashing of the challenges we face.
